Lashing out: ‘COAS’s extension was PM’s decision’
Kaira says timing of filing of a petition against the extension of the CAOS was surprising.
ISLAMABAD:
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that stealing the public mandate is a crime and is punishable.
Talking to a private television channel, he said that the timing of the filing of a petition against the extension of the CAOS was surprising.
“The army chief did not seek extension, rather it was the PM’s decision,” said the minister.
He added it was prerogative of the chief executive of the country to appoint head of any national institution.
