Explosives seized: Three ‘TTP bomb-makers’ arrested

CIA DSP says members were arrested in a raid on a house near the bus stand at Minar-i-Pakistan.

The Crimes Investigation Agency (CIA) claims to have arrested three suspected members of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan and seized bomb-making material and weapons from them. Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, CIA Deputy Superintendent (DSP) Tariq Ilyas Kayani said that Arsahd, Umar Zeb and Amjad, residents of Baghbanpura, were members of the TTP and had been arrested in a raid on a house near the bus stand at Minar-i-Pakistan. He said that police had seized explosive material, four hand grenades, 50 electronic detonators, four manual detonators, and a Kalashnikov from them. He said that they had been sent the bomb-making equipment from Miranshah. He said during initial interrogations, they had confessed that they had been preparing suicide vests and bombs. A case has been registered against the three men at Lorry Adda police station under sections of the Anti Terrorism Act, Explosive Act and the Pakistan Penal Code.
