LA restaurant named Gangnam Style!
Korea town restaurant in LA, previously known as Soju Town, re-opens under its new name.
The popularity of Korean pop singer Psy’s “Gangnam Style” has inspired a restaurant in Los Angeles to name itself upon the hit number. The singer has no plans to sue the owner.
The Korea town restaurant in LA was previously known as Soju Town, but it re-opened last month after a brief closure under its new name Gangnam Style, reports TMZ. The owner of the restaurant never bothered to get Psy’s permission to use the name, but if sources close to the singer are to be believed, he doesn’t really care.
Psy feels imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. “Where he comes from, imitation is a form of honour,” sources added.
The track shamelessly mocks the pretensions of people, who falsely associate themselves with the fashions and styles of the high-class Gangnam district of Seoul — a kind of South Korean Beverly Hills.
