Depleting resource: Businesswomen concerned over low gas pressure
Gas companies should look into the issue and take necessary steps for improvement, says IWCCI President.
ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IWCCI) on Friday expressed concern over low gas pressure for domestic consumers.
“Daily life has been badly affected due to inconsistent gas pressure for the last four days which is unusual during the winter season,” said Farida Rashid, president of the IWCCI.
Gas companies should look into the issue and take necessary steps for improvement, she added, while speaking to business community.
She said that people in Pakistan were braving low gas supply which regularly dropped from 6 am to 10 am.
She said that the prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) had been revised upward recently and compressed natural gas (CNG) filling stations were closed due to differences between owners of private stations and government on pricing issue which leaves little room to justify low gas pressure.
