Not guilty: Four acquitted of murder

Shahamat alleged that the accused had abducted and killed Majeed.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Arshad Ali on Friday acquitted four men after the prosecution failed to prove their involvement in a murder case beyond reasonable doubt. The judge released Malik Manzoor Ahmed, Babar Hussain, Asif Manzoor and Mohammad Nasir. They had been accused of killing Abdul Majeed. According to the FIR registered on the complaint of Malik Shahamat, the father of the deceased, Majeed attended a phone call at 9pm on October 3, 2006 and left home, but never returned. Shahamat alleged that the accused had abducted and killed Majeed.
