ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court, admitting Waheeda Shah’s plea for hearing, issued a stay order against the by-polls to be held in Tando Muhammad Khan, Express News reported on Friday.
A three member bench headed by justice Nasirul Mulk began the hearing of a plea submitted by Waheeda Shah against by-polls in the Sindh Assembly’s PS-53 constituency.
She was the Pakistan Peoples Party’s candidate from Tando Muhammad Khan who was declared ineligible by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for assaulting a polling staffer.
Her counsel said maintained that the results of 102 polling stations cannot be withheld because of one polling station.
The court admitted her plea and ordered the Election Commission of Pakisan (ECP) to not hold by-polls in the said constituency.
Earlier, the Sindh High Court (SHC) had also issued a stay order on the constituency for 15 days.

I don't know why was she not tried and jailed on assault charges? And who wants to have people like her in the assemblies to represent them?
She should be debarred for three reasons: 1. Slapping an election staffer. 2. Defrauding the public by showing a fake veiled woman, pretending to be the victim, in her press conference. 3. Need to provide full protection & self-prestige to the aggrieved official. 4. A lesson to the feudals !
SHE should be debarred from taking part in elections for ever as she took the law of the land in her hands. She should also be sentenced at least for five years so that in future nobody may defy the law of the land. We do'nt need such men/women in assemblies.anymore.

This is like saying that since I did corruption in Water and Power Ministry then I shouldn't be disallowed in becoming a minister for Health Sector because the 2 departments are not related.
She had crossed a limit and needs to be punished. Period !

This case was reported because the cameras were on. I'm sure there would be hundreds of such cases where arrogant landlords have screwed lives of ordinary people. When would we get out of this slavery?

There is little wonder as to why people are completely disappointed with the judicial system, if a open-and-shut case recorded on film can not be decided conclusively even after many months, how can one blame the people. This is disappointing in the extreme.
