Mortar attack: Stray shell kills one at bus stand

According to the police, the mortars had been fired at the police station but missed their target.

PESHAWAR: A man was killed when hit by a mortar shell in Bara Qadeem area of Sarband on Thursday morning.  Hamdullah, a resident of Bara Qadeem was present at a bus stand when one of the two mortar shells, fired from an unknown direction, hit him. The mortar did explode but it hit Hamduallh, leaving him seriously injured. He was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The second mortar hit the open fields in Sarband. It exploded with a big bang, creating wide spread panic among the local people. According to the police, the mortars had been fired at the police station but missed their target.
