Election time: ‘Magisterial powers needed’

Deputy election commissioners have once again requested the provincial government to grant them magisterial powers.

KARACHI: Deputy election commissioners have once again requested the provincial government to grant them magisterial powers so they can control the law and order situation in the upcoming elections. At a meeting on Thursday officials were asked to submit their proposals to comply with the Supreme Court orders of delimiting constituencies in Karachi.
