KARACHI:

Criticising the talk about ‘door-to-door’ verification of electoral rolls, a senior leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Taj Haider, said that reliable data had been tampered with in the past through this method and there was no need to repeat the mistake.

He presented his critique of the electoral process in a memorandum submitted to the chief election commissioner on Thursday. “The national identity cards issued by Nadra are a reliable method of assessing voters’ list,” he said. “Door-to-door verification will result in more corruption.” Haider claimed the staff responsible for verifying the rolls sometimes filled the forms with fake signatures.

I do not know what is his problem. He must oppose even if it is a good step for holding fair elections.
