IUB awarding Rs40 million scholarships

More than 750 applications have been received for the scholarships so far.

The Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB), under the auspices of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, is awarding scholarships worth Rs40 million to more than 400 students studying at the university’s Bahawalpur, Bahawal Nagar and Rahim Yar Khan campuses. The HEC has given preference to students from South Punjab.


At a meeting on Thursday, IUB Vice-Chancellor Prof Muhammad Mukhtar said the scholarships should be awarded only to the deserving candidates. He ordered that senior faculty members and Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry representatives be included in the committee announcing the scholarships.

More than 750 applications from students of under-graduate, graduate and post-graduate classes have been received for the scholarships so far.
