The Balochistan government on Wednesday reiterated its offer of jobs and rehabilitation to insurgents if they bid farewell to arms.



Balochistan Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi chaired a meeting of the Apex Committee on Balochistan to review the security situation in the province. The meeting announced a number of incentives for people who had taken to hills and offered them employment and resettlement if they surrender.

The meeting announced establishing a special welfare fund for the comprehensive rehabilitation for militants who give up the armed struggle. The committee also decided that the provincial government will play its role in settling tribal disputes and issues.

The meeting was also attended by Chief Minister Aslam Raisani, Chief Secretary Fateh Mohammad, Commander Southern Command, Lt General Mohammad Alam Khattak, IGFC Major Gen Obaidullah Khan Khattak, IG Police Umer Khattab and Home Secretary Akbar Hussain Durrani.
