Tyno syrup: Deaths caused by clotting in heart, reveals post-mortem report

The initial post-mortem report of people who died after consuming cough syrup Tyno has revealed that the deaths were caused by clotting of blood in the heart, reported Express News.

The cause of the blood clotting, however, still remains unknown.

Other samples from the bodies have been sent to a chemical examiner for further probe.

Tyno syrup, which was earlier believed to be contaminated and toxic after 17 people who consumed it ended up dying, was given a clean chit on Wednesday in the forensic tests conducted on it.

The 25 samples of Tyno syrup which were taken for conducting tests, were proved to be unadulterated and not toxic.

According to reports, the people who died after consuming this syrup earlier in Lahore either overdosed on it or used it in combination with some other substance.

Following the forensic report results, the factory that manufactures this medicine has been opened partially.

Earlier, 17 people died when they consumed this cough syrup, resulting in seizure of stocks and a ban on it.
