Mehar submits resignation from PML-Q party leadership
Ghous Bux Mehar insists that he was not removed by the government from his ministry, but had resigned himself.
Former federal privatisation minister Ghous Bux Mehar submitted his resignation from the party leadership of Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid (PML-Q) on Tuesday, reported Express News.
Mehar, addressing a press conference at his residence in Karachi, said that he has informed his party leadership regarding all the issues he had.
Opposing the recently passed Sindh Peoples Local Government Ordinance (SPLGO), Mehar complained that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government did not fulfill its promises of giving Sindh its due rights.
Earlier reports suggested that Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf had de-notified Mehar from his ministry, but Mehar insisted that he had resigned himself and was not removed by the government.
Around 11 more PML-Q members, reposing their confidence in Mehar, announced submitting their resignation from the party as well.
