Repair work: KESC to cut power from 9am-5pm in Karachi on Tuesday
The areas where electricity will be suspended include Defence Phase VIII, Gadap Town, Federal B Area and others.
KARACHI:
Electricity will remain suspended in several areas of Karachi on Tuesday from 9am-5pm due to repair work, reported Express News.
The areas where electricity will be suspended include Defence Phase VIII, Sherpao Colony, Gadap Town, Federal B Area, Gulshan, PIB Colony, Mohammad Ali Society, Bahadurabad, Dhorajee, Jamia Rasheedia, Malir, North Karachi, SITE area, Nazimabad, Gulberg and KDA.
The government had earlier mapped out a plan to cut power to the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) for three months beginning December, which means that Karachi is going to face eight-hour power outages daily during the winter season.
Under the power load management plan, 350 megawatts (MW) of power supplied to KESC by the National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) will be suspended for winter to offset the impact of a decline in hydropower generation.
