In a bid to thwart terrorist attacks in Quetta, the provincial government has stiffened security with the deployment of about 8,000 law enforcement personnel in the city, sources said. “About 5,478 personnel of the police and Balochistan Constabulary have been deployed in the provincial capital besides 21 platoons of Frontier Corps have also been called in to maintain peace during Muharram,” Home Department sources told APP on Saturday. They said that three battalions of the 61 Brigade of the Pakistan Army will remain standby to assist the civil administration. They further added that three control rooms have been set up at the offices of the CCPO Quetta, Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner, linking them with 32 security cameras installed on the routes of the processions.
