Desperate Measures: Shawls, coats, banned in Haripur

The ban, impose with immediate effect, will continue for a period of 15 days.

PESHAWAR:

The Haripur district administration on Friday decided to take some extreme measures to ensure peace and security over the next few weeks.

The District Coordination Officer (DCO) banned the use of firecrackers, long shawls, coats and vehicles with tinted windows in the jurisdiction of Haripur  district, under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code. Presumably, the ban of clothing is out of concern that explosives and other weapons may be hidden easily in such apparel. The ban, imposed with immediate effect, will continue for a period of 15 days. Action will be taken against violators under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
