For security: Motorcycles banned in Hyderabad
Journalists, elderly people and security personnel will be exempted from the ban. Newspaper hawkers from 6am to 10 am.
HYDERABAD:
A three-day ban on riding motorcycles was announced by Hyderabad SSP Pir Farid Jan Sarhandi on Friday. The home and interior ministries have been requested to shut down cellular services as well.
Residents failed to follow the ban on Friday but the police warned that they will be stricter on Muharram 9 and 10.
Headquarters SP Amjad Shaikh announced that journalists, elderly people and security personnel will be exempted from the ban. The newspaper hawkers were later added to this list with a time restriction, from 6 am to 10 am.
