Child custody: Court hands over children to mother

FAISALABAD: A court handed over two children to their mother on Friday after they were recovered from their father. Shazia Bibi, a resident of Madinaabad, said that her husband Muhammad Arshad, a resident of Chak 251-GB, had thrown her out of their house after an argument a few weeks ago. She said he did not let her take their sons, Muhammad Umar, 3, and 6-month-old Suleman. She said her parents had requested Arshad to let the children live with the mother, but he had refused. She said she had also approached him several times but he sent her back. She then filed a petition. Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Akram Sheikh had appointed a bailiff on Monday to recover the boys from their father and produce them before the court. The judge had also summoned Arshad, but he did not appear in the court on Friday. The judge handed over the children to their mother.
