Capacity building: Mentoring session held for middle school teachers

Qureshi says a teacher needed to be “the perfect person” for his students.

“Mentoring not only helps enhance teachers’ knowledge but also train them in new teaching techniques to deal with problems they face during teaching,” educationist Inayat Ali Qureshi said on Friday.


He was addressing the participants of a mentoring session for teachers at the Government College for Elementary Teachers for Women and the Government Laboratory Middle Girls School, Nawan Shehr.

Qureshi said a teacher needed to be “the perfect person” for his students.

Educationist Tahir Hussain Jaffri too said that mentoring played a vital role in capacity building of the teachers. The speakers also talked about attendance, discipline, professional skills, in-house training, professional days, continuous assessment of students, faculty ranking and research.

Teachers Naghma Shirin, Meh Talat, Musarrat Batool, Farhat Gilani, Andaleeb Zafar, and Tasleem attendant the mentoring session.
