Pakistan-India ties: President confirms approval of visa agreement

The visa would be valid for a maximum of five specified places and would be for a period not exceeding six months.

President Asif Ali Zardari confirmed on Tuesday Pakistan’s ratification of a visa agreement between Pakistan and India, which was signed on September 8, 2012, during Indian external affairs minister’s visit.



The Cabinet of Pakistan had accorded its approval to sign the agreement during a meeting held on September 5, 2012, and had approved the ratification of the Subject Protocol on October 31, 2012.

Under this agreement, besides diplomatic, non-diplomatic and official visas, a visitor visa would also be issued.

The visa would be valid for a maximum of five specified places and would be for a period not exceeding six months.
