BAHAWALPUR:
Protest demonstration by the All Pakistan Paramedical Staff (APPS) and Young Nurses Association (YNA) continued here for the second day on Tuesday.
The APPS and YNA members have been demanding hard area allowance.
On Tuesday, the protest was led by the APPS central secretary general, Muhammad Iqbal Haddani, who said that the protest would not end until their demands were met.
He said the Punjab government should end the discrimination within the department. YNA President Farzana Nazi said that the paramedics should not be forced to take extreme steps such as boycotting the emergencies. In case this happens, she said, the Punjab government will be responsible for the consequences that follow.
The protesters also warned the government of observing a complete strike at the Rahim Yar Khan Hospital and College.
Quaid-i-Azam Medical College principal said that getting hard area allowance was paramedics’ right.
