Fashion Police: Floral disaster

Lila Downs wears a colorful and fitted tunic, with a lace skirt that opens up like a bird about to take flight!

Singer Lila Downs arrived at the 2012 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year wearing a colourful and fitted tunic, with a lace skirt that opens up like a bird about to take flight! We don’t like this look at all, with something that loud, the feathered lacy skirt was unnecessary.

Hair

Flat hair is never flattering! Downs could have done a lot more with her lifeless, limp hair. Gone are the days where under control hair was the key, today it’s all about volume and curls!

Accessories

Long dangling earrings, an arm cuff, a bangle, rings and bangles to the dozen on her right arm are a little bit of an overdose on the accessory front, we’re screaming stop!

Make-up

Thank you! The make-up is her saving grace. Lip colour to match her top and black lined eyes without any eye shades was the perfect choice. That’s one thing she got right, phew!

Outfit

Overbearing large flowers squeezed on to a purple back drop; not so much fun. This tunic would have passed the test if it were not for all that jewellery, the skirt and the blah hair.

Wear it like

Scarlett Johansson

Hollywood beauty Scarlett Johansson looks stunning in this silk floral printed dress! She carries it with glamour and her subtle nude heels are the epitome of chic! If there’s one way to carry a floral print it has to be this one! Way to go Scarlett!

Allison Miller

The actor from the movie 17 Again, Miller wore a sexy strapless tunic flaunting her porcelain skin and charming features. This babe can really rock a floral printed dress! Allison knew better then not to overload on the accessories, something Downs should have kept in mind.

Jessica Alba

The actor is dressed in this floral/abstract print tunic paired with jeans. She kept the look casual at the Fox Teen Choice awards. Jessica ranks 10 on our style-o-meter we adore her sense of style! Down could take queue from this starlet, an add some colour, flair and curl to her hair.
