Raising awareness: Youngsters can combat violence

Madadgaar Youth Advocates brings together students from 47 universities and encourages them to take action.

Youth can play an active role in combating violence in Pakistan, said the founder of Madadgaar National Helpline, Zia Ahmed Awan, at a seminar on ‘Human Rights Education through Youth Leadership’ in Commecs Institute of Business and Emerging Sciences on Monday.


Awan said that the youth should be made aware of the cases of domestic violence, rape, honour killings, murders and target killings in Pakistan. He also spoke about a club formed by the helpline, Madadgaar Youth Advocates, which brings together students from 47 universities and encourages them to take action against violence.
