Benazir Kulfa sued over wedding guests’ diarrhoea

Guests seek damages of Rs1 million from Benazir Kulfa for allegedly causing mass diarrhoea at wedding.

LAHORE:

A consumer court has set November 26 for preliminary arguments on a suit seeking damages of Rs1 million from Benazir Kulfa for allegedly causing mass diarrhoea among the guests at a wedding.

Petitioner Ijaz Akram submitted that he had ordered 60 kilograms of kulfa for his younger brother’s wedding on October 15, paying Rs15,000 in advance. He said that the kulfa was delivered two hours late, tasted and smelt bad and caused stomach problems among several guests. He said the incident was a massive embarrassment for his family.

The petitioner asked the court to direct Muhammad Ayub and Muhammad Qayyum, the proprietors of Benazir Kulfa, to pay Rs1 million in damages.

Talking to The Express Tribune, Muhammad Ayub said that the kulfa was delivered on time and there was nothing wrong with it.
