Sindh government submits 10-day motorcycle ban request to SHC
Interior Minister Rehman Malik had earlier imposed a ban on motorcycle riding on the first of Muharram.

The Sindh Government has submitted a request to the Sindh High Court (SHC) calling for a ban on riding motorcycles, Express News reported on Monday.
The request is for a 10-day ban.
Earlier, Interior Minister Rehman Malik had imposed a ban on riding motorcycles in Karachi on Muharram 1, citing the fact that terrorists use motorcycles to conduct target killings and other terror related activities. The decision was however overturned by the provincial high court.
SHC Chief Justice Mushir Alam took notice of the ban on a written application moved by Sindh High Court Bar Association President Anwar Mansoor Khan.
Malik had defended his stance, saying such extreme measures were based on intelligence and put into effect after Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf’s approval.
On November 18, a remote-controlled bomb - planted on a motorcycle - exploded near an imambargah in Karachi, killing two and injuring more than a dozen.
