PCB allows Afridi, Ajmal and Akmal to play Big Bash
The trio will now miss the last round of domestic Twenty20 tournament.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has allowed Shahid Afridi, Saeed Ajmal and Umar Akmal to participate in the Australian Big Bash League (BBL), reported Express News on Monday.
Afridi will play with Sydney Thunder while Ajmal had signed for Adelaide Strikers and Umar for Sydney Sixers. The PCB had earlier refused permission to the trio to play in the league insisting they gear up at home for the hotly anticipated India tour.
The trio will now miss the last round of domestic Twenty20 tournament.
A PCB spokesperson told ESPNcricinfo, “We have reconsidered our decision, on the request of Cricket Australia, as the players had already signed their contract... They will now leave at the tail end of [Pakistan's] T20 tournament, which runs from December 2 to 10, and will return when our conditioning camp starts.”
