Muharram security: Cameras installed on Ashura routes

DCO Niaz has appealed to the people to cooperate with law-enforcing agencies to avoid any untoward incident.

FAISALABAD: The Jhang district administration has said closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras have been installed at all sensitive points on Ashura procession. Jhang District Coordination Officer Shahid Niaz told a meeting on Sunday that Civil Defence and Special Branch staff would guard the processions. He said 146 majalis were organised on Sunday in Jhang and 14 mourning processions and 182 majaalis would be held on Monday. District Coordination Officer Shahid Niaz said there would be 21 mourning processions and 189 majaalis on Tuesday and 25 mourning processions and 193 majaalis on Wednesday. On Thursday, 32 mourning processions and 196 majaalis would be organised and 57 mourning processions and 201 majaalis on Friday. District Coordination Officer Shahid Niaz said 66 mourning processions and 203 majaalis would be held on Saturday and 246 mourning processions and 151 majaalis on Sunday. The District Coordination Officer Shahid Niaz appealed to people to cooperate with the law-enforcing agencies to avoid any untoward incident.
