Court’s order: SHO issued warrant for helping minister
Both courts gave verdicts in Saeed’s favour and asked Bilour to hand back the land to Ahmad.
PESHAWAR:
A Peshawar court issued arrest warrants for SHO of Bhanamari police station for allegedly assisting Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa senior minister, Bashir Ahmad Bilour, to occupy private land for construction of a government school.
According to the details, Bilour had issued funds for the construction of a government school on a property in Quaidabad area, which belongs to Saeed Ahmad.
Saeed challenged the construction at the Peshawar High Court and subsequently the Supreme Court. Both courts gave verdicts in Saeed’s favour and asked Bilour to hand back the land to Ahmad.
Despite court orders, the land was not returned. He then filed a contempt of court petition against the minister.
During the case hearing on November 3, Bilour’s counsels advocates Muhammad Ayaz and Salihuddin filed an application requesting Bilour’s exemption from the court. On Saturday, court was informed that the police also played a part in illegally acquiring the land.
Statement recorded for Ghazala Javed’s case
A Peshawar court recorded statement of a Shah Qabool police official in the ongoing investigation of the murder case of the Pashto singer Ghazala Javed.
On November 14, court of district and sessions judge recorded statement of one of the beauticians working at the beauty salon where Javed last went before she was murdered.
The court, on November 2, had framed charges against her alleged killer and former husband Jahangir and asked public prosecutor, Qaisar Khan, to produce all the witnesses before the court.
Javed along with her father was gunned down by unidentified assailants in the Dabagari area of the provincial capital on June 18.
Her younger sister, Farhat registered the case alleging that Jahangir and his two friends killed the singer. Jahangir was arrested on August 29 while the two other suspects are still on the run.
