PIA held to goalless draw in PPFL
Coach blames cold weather, pitch for poor show.
KARACHI:
PIA drew their ninth match in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) after a stalemate with Baloch FC in Noushki yesterday.
According to PIA coach Shamim Khan, playing conditions in Noushki - Baloch FC’s home venue - was a huge factor behind his team’s disappointing performance.
“Baloch FC is a different team altogether when they play on their home ground in Noushki,” Khan told The Express Tribune. “The cold weather and pitch conditions favoured them. The club also uses new players that are not part of their away squad.
“So if we played them in Lahore, we would never know which players will be playing for them in Noushki, unlike our squad that remains unchanged almost throughout the tournament.”
With the result, PIA remained in 11th position with 18 points after 19 matches, while Baloch FC hold 14th spot with 16 points after 21 matches.
