Hazrat Umar (Ra) Martyrdom: Religious group demands public holiday

Ahle Sunnatwal Jamat stage rallies in Quetta and Usta Muhammad districts of Balochistan on Friday.

QUETTA:
Ahle Sunnatwal Jamat staged rallies in Quetta and Usta Muhammad districts of Balochistan on Friday in commemoration of the martyrdom of Hazrat Umar (RA).

The Quetta rally originated in Farooq-i-Azaam Chowk and ended in front of the Quetta Press Club where a large number of the religious group’s members had gathered. Speakers said that it was regrettable that there were no public holidays declared by the government on days that mark the martyrdom of the caliphs.

The leaders said that Hazrat Umar (RA) was the personification of justice on earth and his sacrifices for the propagation of Islam could not be forgotten. They said that Islamic teachings reached the people of the Muslim world by the virtue of the companions of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
