Criminal negligence: Case adjourned
Doctors withdraw bail applications.
LAHORE:
Additional District and Sessions Judge Nisar Ahmed on Friday adjourned the hearing of a case against doctors accused of criminal negligence in removing the drip of a one-and-a-half year old baby, which caused his death, for November 30.
The doctors also withdrew their bail applications after the FIR was quashed.
The doctors in their bail applications had said that they had been implicated in a fake case merely to humiliate them. They said that this was political victimisation. They submitted that they were not present in Mayo Hospital’s Emergency Ward when the infant Fahad had died.
According to an FIR registered by Fahad’s father, Muhammad Afzal, under Sections 302,427,148 and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code against Dr Usman, Dr Sulaiman, Dr Adil, Dr Asad, Dr Hannan, Dr Usmanul Haq and Dr Tajamul, his son died due to the criminal negligence of the doctors. He said that doctors who were treating his son removed his drip and left him to die just so they could join the YDA strike.
