Land scam case: High court adjourns case indefinitely
The applicants accused the MNA of violating Article 62-E of constitution and sought his permanent disqualification.
ABBOTTABAD:
The Abbottabad bench of the Peshawar High Court on Thursday accepted two applications requesting their applicants become a party in the land scam case of PML-N’s MNA from NA-19, Sardar Mushtaq Khan. The identical applications were filed by a former candidate from the same constituency, Syed Waqar Shah, and former union nazim of Rehana, Muhammad Riaz Khan. They accused the MNA of misusing his official status by selling personal land from his native village, Kotnajibullah, to Workers Welfare Board of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa at rates higher than its market worth, causing the national exchequer a loss of Rs140 million. The applicants also accused the MNA of violating Article 62-E of the constitution and sought his permanent disqualification. The double bench headed by Justice Khalid Mehmood and Justice Yahya Afridi asked both parties to produce more evidence and adjourned the case for an indefinite period.
