Prisoners’ complaint: Judge calls Prisons IG, home secretary
The judge ordered the Prisons IG to solve prisoners’ other problems diligently.

Sessions Judge Nazeer Ganjana on Thursday summoned the Prisons inspector general and the additional home secretary for not providing treatment facilities to prisoners in Lahore’s jails. On applications sent by prisoners by post, Ganjana ordered that prisoners be provided treatment facilities within five days of filing an application. He said he wanted no more complaints like this. The applicants told the judge that their applications for the provision of medical treatment were kept pending for months in the Home Department. The judge also ordered the Prisons IG to solve prisoners’ other problems diligently.
