Zaman crashes out of Toronto Cup
Ryan Cuskelly wins in just 35 minutes against Zaman who was the only qualifier to make it to the last eight.
KARACHI:
Pakistan’s Farhan Zaman crashed out of the Revolution Toronto Cup after an 11-9, 11-3 and 11-1 quarter-final defeat at the hands of Australia’s Ryan Cuskelly yesterday. Cuskelly won in just 35 minutes against Zaman who was the only qualifier to make it to the last eight.
The Australian faced a tough challenge only in the first set when Zaman, trailing 9-4, mounted a spirited comeback with an offensive assault on Cuskelly, earning five consecutive points to get even at 9-9. However, the world number 34 stood firm to go 1-0 up and he never looked back. Zaman had earlier stunned world number 63 Mexico’s Arturo Salazar winning 3-0 after a close encounter in their first round match.
