Sectarian Killings: ASWJ to organise protests on Nov 23

ASWJ chief claims that as many as 45 of their activists have been killed in the past three months.

KARACHI:

Upset with the recent spate of sectarian attacks that have claimed dozens of life, Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) chief Allama Mohammad Ahmed Ludhianvi on Tuesday announced that his organisation would hold countrywide protests on November 23.

He was speaking to media personnel after chairing ASWJ’s general council meeting. We lost 45 activists during the last three months, while another 200 of our members were killed last year, said the leader. He demanded security for mosques and imambargahs and added that ASWJ was also planning on organising a “long march” from Karachi to Islamabad on January 10.
