Fashion Police: Not a bed of roses
Singer Rita Ora wore a Marchesa gown that came not only with roses but thorns too. Guilty as charged!
Singer Rita Ora wanted to express her love for roses at the recently held MTV music awards. She arrived in a Marchesa gown that came not only with roses but thorns too. Guilty as charged, Rita!
The Charge Sheet
Hair
Darker roots at the crown and blinding blonde hair may have worked for Christina Aguilera back in the day, but it doesn’t work for her at all. The hair-do is nice but it would have looked better in one colour.
Jewellery
She’s wearing a bangle and a ring, but we wonder with that catastrophic dress she couldn’t add on much more anyway
Make-up
Her make-up is inspired by porcelain dolls, with her face looking almost as artificial. The flicked eyeliner is standard and the ruby red lips matching the outfit are sexy and smoldering.
Outfit
That gown is a downer for the brilliant Marchesa. It just doesn’t settle well on Rita. The colour is fabulous on its own but it screams murder when paired with those over-the-top roses and poofed up bottom.
Wear it like
Anne Hathaway
Anne Hathaway wore this gorgeous Marchesa gown to the Oscars in 2008. She rocked the red carpet in Harry Winston diamonds and Manolos.
Lea Michelle
Lea Michelle the “Glee” diva wore a Marchesa gown with rosette shoulders and a deep cowl back to the Emmy’s last year. The dress was chic and elegant.
Blake Lively
Blake Lively was spotted wearing a red hot Marchesa dress at the Big Screen Achievement Awards in Las Vegas in 2011. Even though this dress had the potential of over whelming anyone, Blake wore it with confidence and carried it well.
