Crime scene: Former nazim killed, gunmen and friend injured

Bajwa was married to actress Hina Shehzad. He was suspected in 22 murder cases.

Former union council nazim Khurram Bajwa was shot dead and his two gunmen and a friend received bullet injuries in Factory Area on Saturday night.

The Factory Area station house office (SHO) said Rana Zeeshan, a resident of Partap Nagar, Muslim Park, had invited Khurram Bajwa to the waleema ceremony of his elder brother on Saturday night.

Bajwa and his two gunmen Naimat and Abdus Sattar and friend Lala Imran were at the waleema when he received a phone call and left the ceremony. As soon as he stepped out, unidentified assailants shot him. He died on the spot. His gunmen and friend rushed to the spot and were also shot.

They were taken to hospital by the Rescue 1122, where they were all stated to be out of danger.


The station house officer said Bajwa was married to actress Hina Shehzad. He said he was suspected in 22 murder cases. The Punjab government had fixed Rs500,000 on his head.

According to City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana, Bajwa was arrested from Lahore about three months ago. He was acquitted in some cases and granted bail in the rest recently. The station house officer said the Gujranwala police had recently registered a case against Bajwa on charges of killing seven people and shooting 13 people.

The Gatti police, Faisalabad, had registered a case against Bajwa on charges of killing five people.

No one has been arrested for killing Bajwa so far.
