Clashes erupt in Kotri against police raid

Two vehicles lit on fire while different areas shut down in a protest against the raid at house of JSMM leader.

In protest against the raid conducted at the house of Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM) leader Goro Sindhi, two vehicles were set on fire while different areas were shut down on Sunday.


Protesters reportedly threw stones at vehicles and set fire to a pickup truck near Sachal Ground and a van near Taluka Hospital. Following the protest, police conducted a raid at Sindhi’s house again.


Sindhi told The Sindh Express that police misbehaved with children and women of the house during the raid.

Kotri SHO Nisar Shah confirmed that a raid was conducted at Sindhi’s house, alleging that Sindhi himself also opened fire against the raid.

Meanwhile, business community also called a protest because of which parts of the city were closed.

A rally was held at the National Highway where they chanted slogans against police and demanded the authorities to maintain law and order in Kotri. They said that three shopkeepers were robbed on Sunday morning and that such criminal activities were routine.
