Accusing Pakistan: Karzai vows to hunt down Malala attackers
Afghan president urges Pakistan to fight the rising terrorism in the country.
MUMBAI:
In an interview with India’s CNN-IBN television network, Afghan President Hamid Karzai promised to hunt the Taliban attackers who shot Malala. “Afghanistan will hunt for Malala’s attackers,” Karzai said as he began a four-day visit to India.
Karzai also accused Islamabad of having armed and trained the teenager’s assailants. “Terrorism is a snake and when you train a snake, you can’t expect it will only go in the neighbour’s house,” he said.
Karzai’s promise to crackdown on Malala’s attackers come in the wake of a confirmation from US officials that Mullah Fazlullah, a commander of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, is hiding in Afghanistan. Fazlullah was reportedly behind the attack on Malala.
