Volleyball: GCU win as women’s event underway
Punjab University defeated Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan 2-0.

Four matches were decided on the opening day of the Inter-University All Pakistan Women Volleyball Championship as the event got underway at the Jinnah College for Women University of Peshawar yesterday. In the first match, Government College University Faisalabad (GCU) defeated Lahore College for Women University 2-1 in a thrilling encounter. Led by Zobia, Zulqaf, Rabia, Samina and Tayyaba, GCU Faisalabad faced tough resistance but were able to prevail in the tense encounter. In another match, University of Lahore defeated Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad 2-0 in a one-sided affair. Punjab University defeated Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan 2-0, while Punjab University beat University of Peshawar 2-0 in the last match of the day.
