PESHAWAR:
A low intensity bomb exploded in the open fields of Turnab Farm on Saturday evening causing panic to spread in the immediate vicinity.
The blast occurred within the jurisdiction of Chamkani police station on the outskirts of Peshawar on Saturday. There was, however, no loss of life in the blast.
Police said that the blast occurred near the house of former Member Provincial Assembly Sabir Hussain Awan in open fields. “There was no target of attack and we think that it was aimed at creating panic instead,” said SHO Chamkani Haji Inayatull.
There is no loss of man or material, he added.
He said that around 500 grams of explosive had been used in the home made device.
