Vani: Cases registered against 11 men
Police had arrested four men on Friday.

Bahlak police on Saturday registered cases against 11 people on the charge of giving a nine-year-old girl in vani. This includes the father of the girl and the men who made up the panchayat that gave the decision. The arrests were made when Saddar police raided the area. They confiscated a promissory note signed by the father of the girl. After a panchayat ruling, Muhammad Arshad, a resident of Chak 608-GB, had promised to hand over his daughter to one Falak Sher as compensation for a rape, once she reached puberty. He also promised to pay Sher Rs400,000 if he did not honour the ruling of the panchayat. Police had arrested four men on Friday.
