Football: Beckham ‘considered Brazil switch'
David Beckham shows interest in switching sides from the LA Galaxy for a stint in Brazil.
David Beckham had showed an interest in switching sides from the Los Angeles Galaxy for a stint in Brazil, according to former Botafogo defender Carlos Alberto.
Beckham extended his contract for two years with Galaxy in January, while Botafogo Clarence Seedorf from AC Milan who was a much-wanted transfer target. “When the negotiation was about to close, I spoke with the president — he and I have a pretty cool relationship, Carlos Alberto told ESPN Brasil.
“I was in Amsterdam in May and an influential businessman, a famous player, came to me at the hotel, saying there was a player interested in playing for a year in Brazil — Beckham. If it did not work with Seedorf, he had another player who could come to Brazil.”
