Language Authority: Minister orders revival of autonomous status

ISLAMABAD:
The National Language Authority’s advisory board has sought the restoration of the authority’s autonomous status and demanded its legal security through an act of parliament.
Addressing a board meeting on Wednesday, Minister for National Heritage and Integration Samina Khalid Ghurki directed her office to
take steps in this regard.
She said a proposal has been forwarded to the cabinet, adding that the autonomous status will allow the authority to work for the promotion of the national language.
