Suicide bombing: Investigation launched into SP attack
DNA samples from the suicide bomber’s remains have been sent to Lahore for testing.
PESHAWAR:
A three member committee comprising Investigation SSP Sajid Mohmand, DSP and Chief Investigation Officer of Khan Raziq police station has started investigating the suicide attack targeting SP Hilal Haider that killed six people and injured at least 37 others. DNA samples from the suicide bomber’s remains have been sent to Lahore for testing. SP Haider was himself investigating a number of high profile cases before his death, including the killing of SP Khurshid Khan earlier in Mattani. His death, however, has been termed the outcome of sectarian violence by militants. Previous investigations into attacks on police personnel have failed to yield effective results.
