“We have shared dossiers on Fazlullah both with the Afghan government as well as ISAF. We are intensively engaging both sides to take care of this issue. There are some responses and we are closely working on that,” he added, confirming that Pakistan had requested authorities in Afghanistan to take action against the militant.
Mullah Fazlullah is regarded as the mastermind behind the attack on Malala Yousufzai.
Some US officials have confirmed he is hiding in a section of eastern Afghanistan, but have feigned from taking action against him since he is not linked to the al Qaeda.
However, US Ambassador to Pakistan Richard Olson said on Thursday that action would be taken against Fazlullah if any credible evidence is found about his presence in Afghanistan.

@Zalmai: Dude, you're delusional. Nearly all of TTP militants cross over to Afghanistan and get shelter there, from where they then launch cross border attacks. 99% of terrorists come from Afghanistan. After US bombardment of Afghanistan post-911, Osama and all other terrorists came to Pakistan from Afghanistan, the source country. Current militants which Afghans keep crying about like Mullah Omar, Haqqani etc. etc. are all Afghan nationals. Stop sheltering terrorists and do some introspection before spewing your madrasa conspiracy theories here.
@Zalmai: " Furthermore, the militant in question is actually from Pakistan not Afghanistan and it is convenient for the establishment to say that he is based out of Afghanistan (plausible deniability) to deflect and divert attention for their lack of competence or collusion."
Yes, just like how Afghans love deflecting and diverting attention for their lack of competence or collusion by blaming Afghan militants in Pakistan. Tell me, is Mullah Omar Afghan? Are Haqqanis Afghan?
@Someone
"Sure, shelter him as much as you want. Just stop complaining about Pakistan though when a militant based in Afghanistan goes out to shoot Malala. If you want to shelter him, stop the artificial crocodile tears over Malala. It becomes hypocritical :)"
First of all people in Pakistan are skeptical and still questioning if Malala was actually shot or not. Furthermore, the militant in question is actually from Pakistan not Afghanistan and it is convenient for the establishment to say that he is based out of Afghanistan (plausible deniability) to deflect and divert attention for their lack of competence or collusion.
@gp65, BruteForce: Sure, shelter him as much as you want. Just stop complaining about Pakistan though when a militant based in Afghanistan goes out to shoot Malala. If you want to shelter him, stop the artificial crocodile tears over Malala. It becomes hypocritical :)
Pakistanis have always advocated not attacking groups, like the Haqqanis, which don't attack them. Why should Afghanistan take action against anti-Pakistan groups? Same principle really..
Its been 8 years and no action against the Haqqanis from Pakistan after repeated reminders and requests by both Afghanistan and NATO.
After 2014 there is no way a weak Afghan army can take action against them anyway so Pakistan lost a golden chance of ending Terrorism.
@Adeel: "we are to our masters that we HOPE they’ll take an action against a ruthless killer taking refuge in their territory! "
And what did you do with OBL in Abbotabad? What are you doing with Sirajuddin HAqqani - despite taking money from US for fighting WOT. The only people you are fighting are TTP who are your local insurgents and have nothing to do with WOT for which you are being paid. How does it feel when the shoe is on the other foot. For years together, US would police the Afghan side of border to prevent TTP from escaping there. They even did that in 2009 when your military conducted operation in Swat and SWA. But when despite years of requests and despite taking billlions of dollar, Pakistan did not stop safe havens for Haqqanis and Afghan Taliban who were killing NATO/ISAF forces, they decided to give a taste of their own medicine to Pakistan and stopped monitoring the border on the other side.
Sure and we hope you take action against Hafeez Saeed, Daood Ibrahim and Sirajuddin Haqqani.
@DarKnight: " Good Taliban if he fights against India or United States, bad if he fights against Pakistani military……..simple."
So let us keep both and suffer. Thank you.
Pakistan hopes US & ISAF will take action against Mullah Fazalullah just like US & ISAF have been hoping for the last 10 years that Pakistan will take action against Haqqanis.
Find him and let him hang in the main square in Saidu Sharif
I hope they give him a villa in a garrison town..........after all its the Pakistani way
If America have a target anywhere in the world they go and get it and it is a sign of a great nation. Our Armed forces on the other hand are great when it comes to housing schemes and to have huge budgets but they simply let Proclaim offenders away from Swat in an easy manner and now they know these hoodlums are living on Eastern Side of Afghanistan that is near the border but they are not interested in getting him at all and blaming it on others.
Every country have their Own national interests and in Pakistan unfortunately we have only Personal interests within our country and our Armed forces are failed miserably failing in protecting the masses of the country at every level.
The propagation of blame game strategy and fooling the nation should be ended. Pakistani nation know that ISI is strong enough to go and get him and they have presence in Afghanistan but America can attack their targets in Pakistan in drones but we have developed our Armed forces for Display on defense days only.
so humble we are to our masters that we HOPE they'll take an action against a ruthless killer taking refuge in their territory!
@Mirza:

proofs are insufficient for Afghanistan
Is he a good Talib or bad? Perhaps denpending upon which side of the border he is!
