Plans to travel 12,000 km in 29 days.

MULTAN:

A motorcyclist from Multan set off on Wednesday on a tour of the Northern Areas to promote tourism in the region.

Iqbal Ghangla will travel a distance of around 12,000km and stop at around 100 locations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.

The campaign has been titled ‘Welcome to Pakistan.’ It started at the Multan Press Club and will conclude at the Islamabad Press Club.

“I have a simple message… Pakistan is a safe place and tourists should not be afraid,” he said. He said he would complete his journey in 29 days.

He said he was inspired by his love of Pakistan. He said this was a voluntary initiative. He said he was a car dealer by profession.

Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (Multan) manager Ashfaq Ahmed told The Express Tribune that the PTDC appreciated all efforts to promote tourism in Pakistan. “We will provide him whatever he requires during his journey,” he said.
