Karachi violence: 3 including police official shot dead

Electronics Market to remain closed today to protest killing of shopkeepers.

KARACHI:
Three more fell prey to the ongoing acts of violence in the city with one police official and two shopkeepers being shot dead, Express News reported on Thursday.

A police official was killed when unidentified men opened fire on a police mobile van in Sohrab Goth.

Unidentified men fired on and killed two men identified as Najam Abbas and Nisar Mehdi in Orangi Town.


Karachi Electronics Market Dealers’ Association President Muhammad Irfan announced that a shutter-down strike would be observed in the Electronics Market today due to the killing of two shopkeepers belonging to that market.

Earlier on Wednesday, around 10 people, including Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) workers were shot dead in the city.

Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf had earlier directed the provincial government to start targeted operations against the suspects involved in worsening the law and order situation in Karachi.
