FAISALABAD: Ambassador to Japan Farrukh Amil visited the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) on Wednesday to discuss avenues and opportunities for enhancing economic and bilateral relations between Pakistan and Japan.

Amil said that Pakistan has great potential in the export of fruits and vegetables to Japanese markets, and stressed that packaging and presentation be improved as they affect the choices of Japanese consumers at the time of purchase. Doing so will promote the marketing of these products and enhance exports of Pakistani goods to Japanese markets, he said.

“Although Japan is currently helping Pakistan in the economic and social sectors but, I will motivate Japanese entrepreneurs to invest in mega projects as well,” he added.

The ambassador assured he would do his best for promoting businesses based in Faisalabad. He also asked the FCCI president to provide feedback so that the ambassador can approach industries and businesses in Japan. He also called for an FCCI delegation to visit Japan in the future and promised to make their visit productive and beneficial.

FCCI President Mian Zahid Aslam congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and said that Pakistan and Japan’s trade relations could be enhanced and strengthened through joint ventures, transfer of technology and cooperation in investment.
