Wind power: First project connected to national grid
Thirty-three wind turbine generators were put in place by the end of July.
KARACHI:
Pakistan’s first 50-megawatt wind power project, developed by FFC Energy Limited (FFCEL), is now connected to the national grid, a statement said on Wednesday. Located at Jhimpir, Thatta, the wind farm was established at a cost of $134 million.
The statement quoted FFCEL Project Director Brig (R) Tariq Izaz as saying that commercial operations on the wind farm were likely to begin by mid-December.
Thirty-three wind turbine generators were put in place by the end of July. Civil, mechanical and electrical works were also completed
by mid-August, the statement said.
